The cutting-edge powder-coating system has been in operation near the Amstetten headquarters since 2021. What can such a system achieve? Every single step of production can be optimised for sustainability, using the latest robot technology, digitalisation, automation and state-of-the-art technology. It protects the environment and people.
As formwork systems are exposed to rain, snow, direct sunshine, widely fluctuating outside temperatures and, of course, concrete, the powder coating makes the metal frames more resistant to corrosion and thus increases their service life.
Large elements of the Framax product family can also be “powdered”, something which has not been economically viable and was too complex logistically but which is now possible with this system. And it is also more sustainable.
„So eine Anlage bekommt man nicht von der Stange. It was made to measure for us. In the pre-planning stages we saw many great facilities, ours is way up there. It is generously equipped with useful features, which will future proof it.”

The new system uses 80% less water simply because the water for each stage can be recycled and used for several rinsing stages and not just one. The chemicals used are much less harmful to the environment, can be deployed with perfect precision and are therefore more efficient. In the powder booths the coating powder is metered efficiently and applied by the robot without any wastage. Excess powder is sucked up and used again. Intelligent use of heat allows the curing oven to heat the adhesion drier at the same time so the drying process hardly uses any energy.
As part of the Umdasch Group, we at Doka aim to not only be economically successful, but also fulfill our ecological and social responsibilities as well as our responsibility as an employer. Therefore, we regularly set impulses within and outside our company and drive international initiatives that make our common working and living environment more sustainable.
“Much less cleaning is needed in the powder booths thanks to the new technology. That makes everybody happy.”
Not only is this wonderful system much more efficient, our customers are also delighted with it. This is because, when they buy systems, delivery of their bespoke formwork is much more versatile, faster and even more cost effective, as well as being in their requested or corporate colours. What is particularly fascinating is that the quantity, size and choice of colour are no longer reasons for exclusion. Individual sections of the system can be disconnected and thus offer greater control and fast conversion. The bottom line is consistently high quality across large areas and quantities. A milestone in Doka’s production and a huge step towards the future.
Doka and Umdasch Group are committed to sustainable development.
This is why we subscribe to initiatives that are aligned with the United Nations’ “Sustainable Development Goals”.
